Where a volunteer has a dispute with a staff member

If a volunteer has a dispute with a staff member they should advise the Coordinator. The Coordinator will mediate discussions between the two parties. The Coordinator may ask the volunteer to put the issue of the dispute in writing. If the dispute continues, the Committee of Management will be advised. If the matter is still not resolved within an agreed time, external mediation will be sought.

Where a volunteer has a dispute with another volunteer.

If a volunteer has a dispute with another volunteer they should try to resolve it directly be talking with the other volunteer. If this does not resolve the problem, they should notify the Coordinator. The Coordinator may ask the volunteer to put the issue of the dispute in writing. If the dispute continues, the Committee of Management will be advised. The Coordinator will have a meeting with both volunteers present if appropriate. If the dispute is serious, disciplinary action may be taken.
